The Latest at CUBS Bereavement Support

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks for CUBS Bereavement Support, so I thought I’d share a little update on what has been happening behind the scenes and what is coming next.

1:1 Support Sessions Have Begun

One of the biggest milestones recently has been beginning to deliver 1:1 support sessions within a school environment.

Seeing something that started as an idea develop into meaningful support for children has been incredibly rewarding. Every child experiences grief differently, and it is a privilege to be able to offer a safe space where children can explore their feelings, ask questions and develop healthy coping strategies following bereavement.

This feels like an important step forward for CUBS and one that I am very proud of.

Getting Out into the Community

Over the past few weeks, I have also been spending time out in the local community delivering leaflets and posters to help raise awareness of the support available through CUBS.

Building connections within the community is something I am passionate about. Whether it’s schools, local organisations, funeral directors or families, every conversation helps to raise awareness of childhood bereavement and the importance of supporting children through grief.

There is still plenty more to come, and I look forward to continuing to spread the word over the coming months.

A Podcast Opportunity

Something exciting that is currently in the pipeline is the opportunity to take part in a podcast.

The podcast will provide a chance to talk more about the story behind CUBS Bereavement Support, why I started this journey and some of the important conversations around grief and bereavement in childhood.

It will also be an opportunity to answer questions and share more about the support available for children, young people and families.

I’ll be sharing more details once everything is confirmed.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming months, one of my key focuses will be continuing to build relationships with local schools.

I hope to spend time introducing myself, sharing information about CUBS and opening up conversations around how we can better support bereaved children within educational settings.

There is also growing recognition nationally of the importance of helping children understand grief and loss. Recent developments within education are encouraging more conversations around bereavement, emotional wellbeing and supporting children through life’s challenges.

This feels like a positive step forward and one that I am excited to follow as guidance and resources continue to develop.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged and followed the journey so far.

What began as an idea has slowly grown through training, planning, conversations, community connections and a shared belief that bereaved children deserve understanding, support and opportunities to be heard.

There is still much more to come, and I am excited to continue building CUBS Bereavement Support one conversation, one connection and one child at a time 🤍
